Southgate Library Hosts Hmong New Year Family Game Time in Florin on November 20

FLORIN, Sacramento County — November 1, 2026. Southgate Library will host a Hmong New Year-themed celebration on Friday, November 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at 6132 66th Avenue, Sacramento.

The library’s official calendar describes “Family Game Time — Hmong New Year Gathering”, with crafts, games and information about Hmong culture and community services. The library identifies Hmong Youth and Parents United as a participating organization.

Who is welcome?

The program is aimed primarily at elementary-school-age children, but Sacramento Public Library says everyone is welcome. Parents and caregivers can accompany children and use the event to learn about traditions, community organizations and opportunities to connect with neighbors.

The Hmong New Year is celebrated through cultural gatherings and family traditions in communities across the United States, including Sacramento. A library program may introduce those traditions, but it is not necessarily identical to a larger regional festival or a religious event.

What to check

The calendar lists a time, location and general activities. It does not promise performances, meals, giveaways or a particular number of seats. Visitors should check the event page before traveling and contact the library about accessibility or any registration requirements. The branch can be reached at (916) 264-2920.
